A student from Japan and a 40-year-old man from Singapore were taken to the ESI hospital from the Coimbatore International Airport, after they showed signs of mild infection. The blood samples of both the patients were collected and sent for testing in King's Hospital in Chennai.
As both the results turned negative, the duo were discharged from the hospital, today. The public health department have quarantined 78 people in the city who have come from various countries like China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Nepal, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Iran and Italy.
Earlier, 100 passengers from these countries were quarantined, now the number has been reduced to 78.
The officials from Public Health department have urged the people to stay away from unwarranted information about Coronavirus and maintain hygiene at all times. People are advised to wash their hands frequently especially before having food.
