Hundreds of Hindu Munnani and BJP members gathered in front of the Coimbatore Government Hospital after a Hindu Munnani, Anand, District Secretary was attacked by unidentified men near Nanjundapuram here, on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, the news of petrol bombs hurled on a mosque in Vedhambal Nagar opposite the Ganapathy Roots Company in Coimbatore has triggered panic.
No casualities have been reported.

The Saravanampatti police are holding investigations to nab the culprits.
Following untoward incidents, the City Police Commissioner in a press release has imposed a ban for conducting meetings, processions by religious organisations and political parties till March 18. He noted that keeping in view of the security and harmony of the city, the ban has been imposed.
