Coimbatore: Representatives of United Jamaat Federation met Chief Minister Edapadi K Palanisamy at the Coimbatore International Airport on Tuesday evening and submitted a petition to pass resolution against CAA in the assembly.
Coimbatore: Representatives of United Jamaat Federation met Chief Minister Edapadi K Palanisamy at the Coimbatore International Airport on Tuesday evening and submitted a petition to pass resolution against CAA in the assembly.
The CM was here in the city airport from Chennai leave to Salem via road. The representatives of United All Jamaat of Coimbatore district (affiliated to AIADMK) led by their General Secretary, CTC Jaffar submitted a petition to the CM.
According to CTC Jaffar, the CM who received the petition informed that enough clarifications regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act has been given by the Central government, however people here are stuck in panic and are protesting. The CM has assured that the AIADMK government will not work against the interest of the minorities.
Addressing the media, Jaffar, General Secretary of United All Jamaat Federation affiliated to AIADMK informed that they have requested the CM to propose to the Central government to follow the NPR as held in 2010. And also pass a resolution in the aswembly opposing CAA in Tamil Nadu.
