Coimbatore: Taking part in the pro CAA protest by the BJP, Hindu Munnani and other Hindu religious outfits staged near Hotel Tamilnadu, Gandhipuram on Monday, State Treasurer of BJP, S.R. Sekar stated Hindu outfits will continue to demonstrate protests in support of the Citizenship Amendment Act to create awareness among the masses.
Speaking to the Press, BJP State Treasurer S.R. Sekar said, "Despite clarifying all misconceptions on CAA, Muslims across Tamil Nadu are still engaged in protest without obtaining permission, which is illegal."
He added that we have united here today to condemn such unlawful acts.

"Similarly, people of other religions who support the protests must realise that their actions disrupts harmony and law and order of the nation. It is highly condemnable that the protestors are raising slogans and speaking ill of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister. Such acts must not be ignored, they should be courted arrest", he slammed.

"In order to protect the law and order and secularism of the State, the State and Central government must take immediate action. If the protests are allowed, it creates suspicion if the State government is supporting such actions that could lead to violence in the State", he alleged.
The pro-CAA protests in the city are being held as a retaliation to the anti CAA protests that are happening in the State. At Athupalayam in Coimbatore, anti-CAA protests have entered into 13th day.
Hundreds of protestors including women and children have been taking part in large numbers, in these protests which is referred as 'Shaheen Bagh of Kovai'.
