Coimbatore: The railway police have booked a 23-year-old repeat offender under the Goondas Act for his involvement in 13 cases.
On Jan 30, 2020, Pramod Kumar threatened Subramaniam at knife point, when he waiting to cross the railway tracks near the parcel loading area, behind the Coimbatore Railway station.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that there were six cases pending on the accused at the Chennai Pattabiram police station, one case in Perambur Railway Police station, four cases at the Muthupudur Police Station, one case at the Avadi Police station and one case at the Ramanathapuram Police station, Coimbatore.
As per the orders of Director General of Police of the Railways (GRP), Tamil Nadu, C Sylendra Babu, V. Vanitha IPS and Police Superintendent S. Maheshwaran, and under the advice of Coimbatore Sub-divisional Police Sub-inspector A. Annadurai, and recommendation of the City Police Commissioner, the Coimbatore Police Circle Inspector, K. Krishnaleela booked the accused Pramod Kumar under the Goondas Act. The orders for the same were issued by the City Police Commissioner, on February 28, 2020.
Following which, Inspector Krishna Leela apprised the accused of Pramod Kumar at the Coimbatore central prison of being booked under Goondas act.
