Coimbatore: A teary-eyed pregnant woman on Monday resorted to the District Collectorate seeking justice for her husband whom she claims to have been booked under multiple fake cases by the Police.

The unprecedented protest by the woman at the Collectorate caused a stir on the grievance day. Later, the officials and the police personnel pacified and guided her on the procedure to resolve the issue.
According to the petition, Lokanayaki and Manikandan are residents of Brindavan Nagar, Kalangal Road, Sulur. On February 11, Manikandan who is an auto driver got into a dispute with a private bus driver after the bus slammed on his auto. Subsequently, Jaishankar, a Hindu Munnani cadre came in support of the bus driver and issued death threats to the bus driver.
Lokanayaki claims that they had filed a complaint against the private bus driver and the Hindu Munnani cadre at Variety Hall road Police Station. She alleges that the police have turned in support of the other side and have filed fake cases on her husband. She added that cases were booked without any formal complaint from the other party.
As all her pleas have fallen in deaf ears, Lokanayaki has approached the District Collector K Rajamani to revoke the false cases filed on her husband.
