Coimbatore: At the inaugural function held here to declare open a community centre at Ward No 93 in Edayarapalayam here, Minister SP Velumani appealed to the public to maintain cleanliness at the centre.
The Minister declared open the Amma community welfare centre worth Rs 93.50 lakh in Ward No.93 in Edyarpalayam, Periyar Nagar (South Zone). The project was funded by the Coimbatore Corporation.
Speaking at the occasion the Minister informed that the community hall has been built with two kitchens in the ground and first floor, reception areas and rooms for bride, groom and toilet facilities in a space of 4563 sq.ft. He urged the public to cooperate in maintaining the building clean.
Subsequently, the Minister took part in a Bhoomi Pooja at Maram Colony in Ward No.93, to establish an indoor stadium for public entertainment at a cost of Rs.38 lakh.
Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer J Sravan Kumar, Deputy Commissioner C. Prasanna Ramasamy, City Engineer Lakshmanan, Assistant Corporation Commissioner T. Ravi and many others were present.
