Based on a tip-off that sanitary inspectors in Ooty Municipality have been demanding bribe to renew licenses of shops owned by Ooty municipality.
According to DVAC sources, Rs. 9.80 lakh was seized from four sanitary inspectors -- Bhaskaran, Thiagarajan, Maharaj and Gnanasekar in a raid
conducted by DVAC Inspector Geetalakshmi, SI Devapriya, headed by DSP Dakshinamurthy.
Investigations are on.
