Coimbatore: Celebrating the 67th birthday of DMK President and Leader of Opposition M K Stalin on Sunday, the party cadres in Valparai distributed cake and sweets to the public.
However, the party cadres across the State were not involved in any grand celebrations as DMK President M.K. Stalin on Thursday announced that he was not in a frame of mind to celebrate his birthday, in view of the poor health condition of party general secretary K. Anbazhagan.
The cadres assembled near Gandhi Statue in Valparai on Sunday morning and cut a mega-size cake and distributed it to the public. Palpandi, DMK Secretary (Valparai) led the celebrations.
A similar celebration was carried out by the DMK Transport employees welfare association. They hoisted the party flag and offered sweets to the public.
EK Ponnusamy, Soundarapandiyan, Selvam, union executives, subcommittee executives of the party took part.
