Coimbatore: According to police, a 21-year-old girl was strangulated to death by her alleged boyfriend who committed suicide after killing her and undergoing treatment at the hospital.

M Nandini (21) from Keeranatham has allegedly been in love with Dinesh (24), her childhood friend, for the past several years. Recently, their love turned sour, after Dinesh reportedly forced Nandini to marry him. The frequent torture by Dinesh led to disagreements and soon led to their break up.
On Friday, Dinesh went to Nandini's home and confronted her. He reportedly behaved very violently and strangled her using a rope. Later, he allegedly forced 'cowdung' powder in her mouth and fled the spot.
Shortly, Nandini's parents returned home and were shocked to find their daughter unconscious and rushed her to Coimbatore GH where she was undergoing critical treatment. Not respinding to treatment, Nandini succumbed at the GH.
Meanwhile, Dinesh attempted suicide by consuming 'cowdung' powder and presently reported to be in a critical state at Coimbatore GH.
A case has been filed in Kovilpalayam Police station. In this scenario, the parents and relatives of Nandini tried to stage a sit in protest at the Coimbatore GH, demanding immediate arrest of Dinesh. The Police pacified the parents and assured action.
