City traffic police announce parking rules and local bus route diversions to manage diwali rush!



With just another week for Diwali, the City Traffic Police have announced for traffic diversions and bus route alterations. These temporary traffic diversions will be implemented in various parts of our city from 22nd October and will be effective till 29th October. The following diversions in bus routes and parking rules will be implemented in our city. 

Parking instructions to shop-owners and employees of Oppanakara street and Raja Street.

  • Shop owners and employees of the business establishments on Oppanakara street and Raja Street are strictly advised not to park their vehicles in the public parking zones as it could cause traffic congestions and restrict access of roads to pedestrians. 

  • Public are asked to park their vehicles in Raja Street, Vyshyal Street on one Side and make use of the Corporation parking available in the Cholakadai junction. No vehicles should be parked on the either sides of the Oppanakara Street.


  • Bus route alterations:



  • Buses coming from Palakkad road to Gandhipuram should take the Sungam Bypass road to reach Trichy road and should proceed from there to Gandhipuram through Railway station.
     
  • Buses coming from Palakkad Rood heading towards Poo Market and Mettuppalayam Road will be diverted through Ukkadam- Perur bypass road -Chetty veethi - Sullivan Street-Gandhi Park- DB Road and will join the Mettupalyam road from there.

  • Buses coming from Avinashi Road, Trichy Road and from Railway Station to Perur Isha yoga, Karunya university will be diverted through Townhall -Ukkadam police station- will take a right turn and enter Perur bypass road and touch the corners of Shivalaya Junction, Selvapuram and proceed to their respective destinations from thereon.

  • Buses that ply from Railway station to Gandhipark and Mettupalayam road (Route No: 11,21,32) will pass through Townhall -Ukkadam -Perur bypass road- Chetti Veedhi- Sullivan street-Gandhi Park- DB road and will join the Mettupalayam road from there.


The city traffic police have requested the co-operation of the public in order to ensure smooth movement of vehicles in the city during diwali festival.
