Coimbatore: More than 200 members of Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) got into a scuffle with police, after they attempted to lay siege and block the railway station, on Wednesday here.
Coimbatore: More than 200 members of Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) got into a scuffle with police, after they attempted to lay siege and block the railway station, on Wednesday here.
Alleging that RSS spearheaded the Delhi Violence which has claimed 19 lives, the District TMMK members protested in Coimbatore. They raised slogans against the Central government and the Delhi police whom they alleged to be mute spectators of the violence in North East Delhi.
While they attempted to lay siege to the railway station, the Police stopped them. Shortly, a scuffle ensued between them and all the 200 protestors were courted arrest.
Police said the protesters did not seek permission for the protest and were causing nuisance to the public by blocking the railway station.
Tense situation prevailed for a brief time in front of the railway station.
