In a press meet organised by the Perur Aadheenam Shanthalinga Maruthasala Adikalar at Coimbatore Press Club here on Wednesday, he urged the government to implement Tamil as a medium of education in Colleges.
He stressed that Tamil language should be used in all temples and government departments. He also proposed that 80% reservation for Tamils in job opportunities.
"A day-long hunger strike would be held in Sivananda colony on February 29 in association with over 60 Tamil Language Support Organisations", he told the media.
Seconding him, Appavu, President of Tamil Mozhikappu Kootamaippu grieved that these days even children do not speak Tamil and the language is slowly dying.
He said that Tamil Mozhikappu Kootamaippu was started to protect Tamil language. And, strenous efforts are underway to raise awareness among the people, he added.
Professor Sirpi, Tamil Scholars Raveendran and Ganesan and others were present at the Press briefing.
