Coimbatore: The Saravanampatti police have arrested three people for attempting to circulate counterfeit currency notes here on Saturday night. The police have seized fake notes worth Rs. 3.24 lakhs.
Coimbatore: The Saravanampatti police have arrested three people for attempting to circulate counterfeit currency notes here on Saturday night. The police have seized fake notes worth Rs. 3.24 lakhs.
Upon information, the police raided the house of Surya Kumar in Thiruvalluvar Nagar here and confirmed his involvement in circulating counterfeit currency. They seized printers, computers and scanners from his residence which were used for printing counterfeit notes.
Preliminary enquiry reveals that Suryakumar was running an e-service centre at Kanuvai. While his business was reeling under huge losses, he got introduced to Kidhar Mohammed who was involved in producing counterfeit notes.
Shortly, Suryakumar learnt the art of making fake notes and struck a deal with him and used one other person named Mahendran to circulate them.
The police who have arrested the trio are now investigating the issue.
