Corporation officials and staff take ‘State Girl Child Protection' day oath

Coimbatore: Officials and staff of Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) were administered 'State Girl Child Protection' day oath at the Corporation main office in Townhall on Monday.

Coimbatore: Officials and staff of Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) were administered 'State Girl Child Protection' day oath at the Corporation main office in Townhall on Monday. 

On February 20, Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisamy announced that the birth anniversary of late Former CM Jayalalithaa i be henceforth be celebrated as "State Girl Children Protection Day."

Various welfare schemes and planting drive was initiated today across the State. Officials of various government departments took oath to protect child children and emphasise equality. 

The oath read,” As a citizen of India I will treat all children equally without discriminating on the basis of caste, religion, language, social or economic status. I will not harm any child physically or mentally through any of my actions. I will do all that is within my power to stop any violence or harm against a child, that might come to my notice and will take it to the right authorities. Understanding that today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders, I will ensure the best that I can offer to aid their growth and safety. I will try to the best of my ability to stop a child marriage, if I become aware of it. I will strive to achieve a society without child labourers. I will work for the rights of all children, as granted by the Constitution of India and by the United Nations Children’s Rights agreement.”

All the Corporation employees and officials took the oath, in the presence of Deputy Corporation Commissioner, Prasanna Ramasamy.



Assistant Commissioners M. Sundararajan (Establishment), N. Annadurai, Law Officer Amulraj, Corporation Education Officer A. Valliammal, Executive Engineers V. Parvati, R.Sasipriya, PRO R.Mathiazhagam, Accounts Officer D. Lakshmipriya (water division) and all other officers and employees took part in the event.
