Coimbatore: Holding banners reading, "Eradicate Plastic, Eat healthy Food & Lead Healthy Life, Check for Food Safety License, students of various educational institutions marched to annihilate plastic usage in Tamil Nadu.
The rally was organised by the Tamil Nadu Food Security and Drug Administration with an aim to create awareness among the masses to avoid using banned plastics and contribute to transform Tamil Nadu into a plastic-free, State.
The placards also held messages stating the irrevocable damage that plastics create to the environment.
The rally commenced from the District Collector's office and concluded at the Office of the Deputy Director of Health Office in Race Course, here. District Designated Food Safety Officer, K Tamil Selvan, officials from food safety department and students took part in the rally.
