Prabhu (33) of Stanmore Estate, Valparai, was involved in a dispute with Vellaisamy, a butcher in Vellasamy market area. The man filed a complaint with the Valparai police alleging that Prabhu had used abusive language.
When the police called Prabhu for an inquiry, Prabhu has used abusive words against the police and tried to assault them. Following this, he was booked under Section 353, assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharging his duty.
He was produced at the Court and later imprisoned at the Coimbatore Central Prison. It may be noted that Prabhu previously has been charged several times for selling liquor in the black market.
