Tirupur: Expressing his support for the ongoing Anti-CAA dharna in Tirupur, Thirumurugan Gandhi, Co-ordinator of May 17 Movement visited the dharna site in Tirupur and showed his solidarity to the protestors who have been staging dharna for the 9th consecutive day.
Hundreds of Muslims are part of the dharna in Arivoli Nagar in Tirupur. Several political leaders have visited the protestors and expressed their support. In this regard, on Sunday Thirumurugan Gandhi of May 17 Movement met the protestors and interacted with them.
He told reporters that if the State has any intent of respecting the sentiments of the people of Tamil Nadu, they should immediately pass a resolution against the CAA. Alleging that arresting those who voice against the State and the Centre under the National Security Act is prevalent from the British rule and this ultimately led to the defeat of the British.
"And, like the British, the fate of BJP will end the same way", he said.
