Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Corporation has launched the use of hand held devices for Corporation tax collection in association with HDFC bank.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Corporation has launched the use of hand held devices for Corporation tax collection in association with HDFC bank.
The launch was held at the Coimbatore Corporation South Zone Office on Saturday and Minister for Municipal Administration, RDI S.P. Velumani inaugurated the new operation in the presence of Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer J Sravan Kumar.
The new hand held devices will be used at all the 29 tax collection centers of the Coimbatore Corporation. The Minister distributed these devices, which will be used for the collection of property and water taxes. These devices are versatile hence, credit/debit cards, demand draft and cash can be used for paying taxes.
The Minister also inaugurated and inspected, the KIOSK that informs the public about the developmental activities that take place in the city, through photographs and videos. Further, the rain water harvesting App that can assess and monitor the rain water harvesting techniques at residences was also inaugurated. Inturn, the Corporation administration can access the information from the App and take appropriate action.
Deputy Commissioner, Prasanna Ramasamy, Zonal Assistant Commissioners T.R. Ravi, Senthilkumar Rathinam, M. Selvan, Assistant Commissioner (Accounts) Saravanan and other Additional Revenue Officers and HDFC bank officials took part in the event.
