Coimbatore: More than 8000 Muslim people including women staged a sit-in protest at Aathupalam on Wednesday night which they claim will continue till the State government promises to pass a resolution against implementation of CAA, NPR and NRC in Tamil Nadu.
Coimbatore: More than 8000 Muslim people including women staged a sit-in protest at Aathupalam on Wednesday night which they claim will continue till the State government promises to pass a resolution against implementation of CAA, NPR and NRC in Tamil Nadu.
Similar protests have been launched in other Districts including Tirupur and other parts of Tamil Nadu.
"It was decided last night to continue sit-in protests till the State government pass a resolution opposing Citizenship Amendment Act.
The protest began at 10:30 PM at Aathupalam and over 8000 people took part in the peaceful protest", said the organisers of the protest.
They also opined the AIADMK MPs who voted in support of the CAA bill have committed a histrorical mistake. However, they can rectify the mistake by passing a resolution in the State assembly opposing implementation of the Citizenship Act in Tamil Nadu, they told.
