Coimbatore: Renowned Violin Maestro Kala Ramnath accompanied by Ramdas Balsule on the tabla in a musical performance marked the commencement of Yaksha 2020, a three-day music and dance extravaganza ahead of Mahashivaratri which will be celebrated on February 21.
The countdown to one of the biggest events on the Isha calendar, Mahashivaratri began with the Yaksha festival at the Isha Yoga Center on February 18.
The festival was declared open by K Shanmugasundaram, Member of Parliament from Pollachi constituency and Krishnan, Founder of Krishna Sweets.
Isha is set to celebrate its 26th Mahashivaratri on 21. The nightlong celebrations will begin at 6 PM and conclude at 6 AM on February 22.
The famous Hyderabad Brothers, singers Raghavachari and Seshachari will perform tomorrow, the second day of Yaksha. Sharmila Biswas noted Indian classical dancer will deliver an Odissi performance on the final day.
Yaksha performances are held at the Suryakund Mantapam in the Isha Yoga Center every evening between 6:50 PM to 8:30 PM.
Entry is free and open to all.
