For the third consecutive day, hundreds of Islamic members including women and children are protesting at Arivoli Nagar in Tirupur against the police lathi charge on Islamic people during an anti-CAA protest in Vannarapettai, Chennai.
TPDK General Secretary K Ramakrishnan interacted with the protestors and took part in the protest. Addressing the media, he said "While nine States in India have passed resolutions for not implementating CAA, NRC and NPR, the TN State government which is acting as a slave to the BJP government is hesitant to pass a resolution. The State government's silence will only provoke more protests."
When questioned on the police lathi charge in Chennai, he alleged that the entire act of violence was orchestrated by the State government. "However, now they are conveniently pointing fingers at the Islam people who were peacefully protesting."
