"Drones have been deployed to trace the injured tiger. We are concerned about the health of the tiger. If the tiger is spotted with injuries, we will plan the treatment process accordingly", said District Forest Officer D. Guruswamy on Monday.
The Nilgiris DFO noted that "Three cameras have been fixed in the forest area and yet no footages of the tiger has been captured."
He added that the owner of the farm, Nanjundan has been booked for setting barbed wire in the farmland.
As the farmers from Uyilhatti village have confirmed of spotting two tigers, the forest department have geared up works to trace the tigers and ensure they are free from injuries.
On Saturday, a tiger was spotted stuck in a barbed wire in a farmland in Uyilhatti village in Kotagiri. While, the foresters were about to tranquilise the animal and treat its injuries, the tiger miraculously freed itself and fled into the forest.
Now, the foresters are trying to trace the tiger to ensure its health.
