Coimbatore: Ganesh Kumar, Managing Director of Indo Shell Cast Pvt. Ltd, Coimbatore will take charge as the Chairman of CII, Coimbatore Zone for the year 2020-21.
The annual day event of the Confederation of Indian Industry, Coimbatore Zone was held on February 15, 2020. Along with the new Chairman, the new office bearers for the year 2020-2021 was also announced at the meet.
Varadarajan, wholetime Director of Rajshree Sugars was the Chairman for the year 2019-20.
Ganesh Kumar the newly inducted Chairman obtained his under graduation in EEE from PSG College of Technology, and graduated from the University of Dalhousie Halifax, Canada. He had previously headed a design team in Microsoft for 7 years.
He has also been a visiting faculty for various business schools and taught courses on family business and business management. He also runs an NGO named AMOHA, which works towards enabling education in rural, tribal and remote parts of the State.
Arjun Prakash, Whole-time Director, Effica Automation, a division of Coimbatore Pioneer Fertilizers Ltd, has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of CII, Coimbatore Zone.
A bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from PSG Tech, Arjun Prakash did his Masters in Automation Technology from the University of Applied Sciences in Esslingen, Germany.
Having worked at Festo AG and IMT Robot AG in Germany, he established Effica Automation in Coimbatore.
Arjun Prakash had served as the Convenor and Co-Convenor of the Manufacturing Panel, CII Coimbatore for 4 years and helped to organize many conferences during his tenure.
A very active member of CII-Yi, Coimbatore Chapter since its inception in 2004, he has held many positions, including the Chapter Chair. He has also served as the Chairman of Nativelead Angel Network - Coimbatore Chapter, as a Governing Council Member of TiE Coimbatore Chapter and as a Committee Member of the Coimbatore Club.
