Tirupur: "Many concessions are being offered in the new Industrial policy to uplift the Knitwear industry in TN", informed the Director of Handlooms and Textiles Department, Karunakaran at the inauguration of the 47th Apparel Exhibition in Tirupur on Monday.
The 47th Apparel Exhibition was inaugurated at the IKF Complex at Pazhankarai in Tirupur, today. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Handlooms and Textiles Department Director, Karunakaran, Apparel Export Association President Sakthivel and MLA Gunasekaran.
Speaking to the press after the event, the Director of Handlooms and Textiles Department, Karunakaran said, " The Government is currently offering a lot of concessions for the upliftment of the Knitwear industry. Shortly, a GO will be passed announcing incentives to the Knitwear manufacturers. Similarly the subsidy being offered to the industries on loan have been increased from 4% to 6%."
Breofing on the upcoming plans future plans for the industry's development, he said," Many initiatives are also being undertaken to setup Industrial Parks on a small and large scale."
