Coimbatore: MP PR Natarajan has urged the AIADMK government to pass a resolution against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) at the upcoming assembly session.
Addressing the press at the Marxist Communist Party's Union Committee meeting held at Periyanaickenpalayam here on Monday, the MP who was the guest of honor questioned the speech by Deputy Chief Minister, O Panneerselvam who assured to protect the rights of the minorities in Tamil Nadu.
"In the first instance, the AIADMK should not have supported the CAA bill. If the 11 MPs from AIADMK had not supported the bill, there would no such outrage in the nation. After voting in favour of the bill, issuing statements of protecting the minorities is ridiculous", he alleged.
"Like Kerala, the TN governemt should also pass a resolution in the assembly to reject CAA", he noted.
He also urged the Chief Minister to pass law announcing the Cauvery Delta region as a protected agricultural zone.
