Coimbatore: Over 2000 people belonging to various Jamaats and allied political parties took part in a rally organised against implementation of CAA, NRC and NPR, in Mettupalayam on Monday.
Coimbatore: Over 2000 people belonging to various Jamaats and allied political parties took part in a rally organised against implementation of CAA, NRC and NPR, in Mettupalayam on Monday.
Members of United Jamaat, Jamaatul Ulama, other Islamic outfits, DMK and its allies were part of the protest in MTP. The rally was chaired by ME Muhammad Ismail Ikkiya, Jamaat Council President, Aranangasamy, State Audit Committee member DD inaugurated the rally.

The rally commenced from Co-operative colony passed through Karamadai road, Annajirao road and concluded in the mosque grounds. All the protestors jointly held the 100-feet long national flag and raised slogans against the Central and State governments to revoke the Citizenship Amendment Act.
More than 500 policemen, led by DIG Karthikeyan were deployed for security throughout the rally.
