Tirupur: Tirupur District Collector K Vijaya Karthikeyan on Friday released the final draft electoral roll for the eight Assembly constituencies in Tirupur.
Apprising the media on the release, he said," The draft voters list was released on March 23, 2019. Following which special camps were held to add new voters to the list and to facilitate corrections."
"Tirupur has 2484 polling stations. The total number of voters is 23,01,481.The number of male voters is 11,41,756 and the number of female voters is 11,59,448. Voters belonging to the third gender are 277. The number of female voters, in the district, is higher than the male voters by 17,692", the Collector informed.
Briefing on the changes made in the final list and new voters, the Collector informed that ," Around 54,178 new voters have been added to list. And, 2347 names have been deleted from the final list. 3553 name and address changes have been carried out in a single constituency."
"The final electoral roll will be displayed at all government offices, for the benefit of the public", he noted.
