In the official social media page of the Coimbatore City Police, R.Mutharasu, Deputy Commissioner Of Police (traffic) has requested the public not to use the
100 Feet Road – Chinnasamy Road for walking and jogging purposes. "The flyover is meant only for vehicles. Action would be taken against people who are using the flyover for jogging and walking”, he told.
The DC also warned people who take selfies on the flyover. He added that cases will be filed against the violators.
"To prevent truck movements during the peak hours near Tidal Park, the traffic police have put up warning boards and displays stating that trucks are not allowed between 8 am and 11 am and between 4pm and 8pm, on Avinashi Road to Thaneerpandal Road stretch", the DC informed.
He added that trucks violating the order will be imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 under Section 115 and Section 194 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
