Coimbatore: Progress of the developmental projects in wards 56, 75 and 68 were assessed today by the Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer J Sravan Kumar.

He visited the sewage treatment plant being constructed in Ward No 75, Nanjundapuram of the East Zone of the Coimbatore Corporation. The sewage treatment plant is being constructed with a capacity to hold 40 mld (million litres per day) at a cost of Rs.43.60 crore.

The Commissioner also visited the sterilisation centre for dogs built at a cost of Rs.36 lakh, near Ondipudur. The work of laying pipelines for the underground sewage system in Ondipudur on Trichy road was also inspected by the Commissioner.

The Corporation park that is being constructed at a cost of Rs.78 lakhs on the 80 feet road area in Ward No. 68 of the Central zone of the Coimbatore Corporation was inspected by the Commissioner. He also visited the microbial fertilizer manufacturing center being constructed at a cost of Rs.48 lakhs, near the park.
Central Zone Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Kanagaraj, Administrative Engineer Karuppasamy, Executive Engineer Saravankumat, Assistant Executive Engineer Umadevi were present during the assessment.
