Coimbatore: The All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) and the Students Federation of India (SFI) have jointly petitioned to the SP on Tuesday, against the Principal of Government Elementary School at Kaatampatti in Kinathukadavu Taluk for allegedly misbehaving to girl children.
Alleging that Arumugam Makaaliappan, Principal of the school has misbehaved to many girl students of the elementary school, a complaint has been filed at the office of the District Superintendent of Police.
The parents who complained to the District Educational Officer and the Assistant Primary Education officer accuse that the officials are trying to protect the Principal. The parents, therefore, staged a protest on Katampatti road demanding action against the Principal.

Following this, four of the protesting parents were taken to the police station. According to reports, the police have allegedly forced the parents to give a clean chit to the Principal, by making them write that the they had reported wrongly about the Principal.
Meanwhile, it is alleged that the Principal had called one of the parents and apologised for behaving in an inappropriate manner. The case did not proceed further, as no complaint has been registered against the issue.

The AIDWA and SFI have now filed a complaint petition with the District Superintendent of Police, against the Principal.
Speaking to the press, they insisted that the Principal should be booked under POCSO act and imprisoned. "The Children's Welfare Department and the Education Department officers must visit the school and investigate the issue", they urged.
