Reitrating on the importance of traffic rules, the DC insisted the auto drivers to avoid speeding and urged them to maintain a speed of 40-50 kms/hr at all times.
He also proposed that auto drivers can make themselves useful to the police by alerting crimes or sharing information related to crimes. The DC also shared with the auto drivers a dedicated helpline number to report crimes.
To keep a check on unauthorised autos plying in the District of Tirupur, the RTO office and the District Police department are planning to introduce special stickers for authorised autos, with license.
The DC apprised that 14 new signals will be launched soon along to the already existing 20 signals within the Tirupur Corporation.
Police personnel from Law and Order, Traffic department and auto drivers attended the meet.
