In a press meet held today, Senior Communist leader and State Secretary of CPI (M), K Balakrishnan alleged that it has become a practice for the BJP government to conduct IT raids on actors and directors who express their views against the BJP in movies.
"It is not wrong to conduct an IT raid on Actor Vijay but the way it was done, is wrong", he added.
"Actor Vijay is not a terrorist. He will oblige to give an explanation, if demanded. The raid was intended to silence Actor Vijay criticising BJP in his films. All those who question BJP are subjected to such raids. However, there is no information on the action taken by the IT department after the raids. The IT department is biased", he accused.
He noted that BJP is trying to voice their opinions through Rajini. The senior CPM leader challenged if Rajini can speak against PM Modi and Amit Shah.
"Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy should explain whether Minister Rajendra Balaji belongs to AIADMK or the RSS. The Minister speaks like Hindutva organizations and the CM should take action on him for his divisive statements", he told.
Commenting on the recent controversy sparked by Minister Dindigul Srinivasan, the Senior Communist leader remarked it as 'height of arrogance' and now the Minsiter is trying to convince the boy's parents.
He opined that Minister Dindigul Srinivasan should publicly apologize for his disrespectful act. He accused that the tribal boy and his parents are being intimidated to compromise and withdraw their complaint.
He also urged a CBI inquiry to investigate the issue of government departments including the TNPSC, which has become a source of controversy.
In addition, he said, that the Central, State government and the Governor's office are highly unpredictable. "The Supreme Court has given a clear ruling that the Governor can decide on the release of the convicts of Rajiv Gandhi asassination. The governor has been postponing the decision for no valid reason", accused the CPM leader.
He informed that if the Governor says he cannot release the seven convicts, then we will go to the Supreme Court to protest against it.
State Secretary K Balakrishnan said the governor should take a decision to release the convicts.
