Coimbatore: District Collector K. Rajamani on Thursday presented certificates to the winners of the District Level Competition for WorldSkills Competition to be held in Shanghai between September 22-27, 2021.
Coimbatore: District Collector K. Rajamani on Thursday presented certificates to the winners of the District Level Competition for WorldSkills Competition to be held in Shanghai between September 22-27, 2021.
The WorldSkills competition serves as a platform in promoting "the need for skills" and gives opportunity for skilled young people to compete among themselves. WorldSkills organises the world championships of vocational skills, and is held every two years in different parts of the world. World Skills Championships are considered as the benchmark of high performance and professional excellence, told the Collector in the release.
The Skill Competition in Coimbatore district was held between January 23 to 31 in various centres, and was jointly organised by the Tamil Nadu Skills Development Corporation and the District Administration. More than 100 youth enthusiastically participated in the competitions held under various categories.
The District Collector awarded certificates to the first two winners. He also awarded certificates to the committee members and organisations who helped in organising the events. He encouraged the winners to bring laurels to the District in State and National competitions.
The winners from District level will be participating in the State level competitions. And, State level winners will compete in the National level competitions. The final winners will be representing India in the global competitions to be held in 2021 in Shanghai, China.
