Jointly organised by the Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON) and Salim Ali Naturalist Forum (SANF), the event is to witness bird watchers create a checklist of all the birds in Coimbatore from dawn to dusk.
“Large gathering of experienced and budding birdwatchers would spend an entire day spotting and identifying birds in an effort to record as many species of birds as possible,” an organiser said.
The organiser further added that the participants were needed to form a team with an experienced bird watcher as the team leader. A maximum of four members are allowed per team.
While registrations should be made on or before February 7, the name list of team members and locations that are to be explored must be shared with the organisers.
The race will commence by 6 AM and end by 6 PM after which an interactive session has been organised at a private hotel on City Airport Road at 7 PM.
