District Collector inspects developmental works in Panchayats; urge officials on timely completion

Coimbatore: District Collector K. Rajamani inspected the development works at Panchayats and Panchayat Unions, on Wednesday.


Coimbatore: District Collector K. Rajamani inspected the development works at Panchayats and Panchayat Unions, on Wednesday. 

The Collector visited Thondamuthur Panchayat Union, Periyanaickenpalayam Panchayat Union and Thondamuthur Panchayat and interacted with the officials to understand the progress of the works including installing rainwater harvesting structures, road facilities and street lights are carried without any delays. The projects have been decided based on the need and population of the panchayats. 

The renovation of the District Panchayat Resource Centre building in Somaiyampalayam Panchayat that comes under Periyanaickenpalayam Panchayat Union is being undertaken at a cost of Rs.51.98 lakhs. The Collector advised the concerned authorities to complete the renovation work on time. 

He also inspected the construction of the overbridge in Kaalampalayam of Theethipalayam Panchayat, which is being constructed at a cost of Rs.2.90 crore and the Kombanur Kuttai renovation in Thondamuthur Panchayat for which Rs.50 lakh is being alloted. 

Collector K Rajamani also inspected the side wall construction on roads that are being carried at a cost of Rs.2.50 crore at Alalndur Panchayat, Moogil Madai Kuttai, Aalamarathu Pallam, Kondadhu Kaaliamman Koil, Valaiyaankuttai and Kuravan Kaatu Pallam. 

Inspection of the over bridge construction at a cost of Rs.3.20 crore in Thoppilipalayam area of Madhvaraayapuram was also undertaken. He also visited the bridge construction near Muttathuraayar Temple, Madhvarayapuram in Thondamuthur Panchayat, carried at a cost of Rs.1.25 crore. 

Later, he visited the Anganwadi centers in Kaliannanpudur of the Thondamuthur Panchayat. He looked at the attendance register of the students and inspected the noon meal centre. He interacted with the noon meal workers and ensured the children are provided with quality food. He also discussed their nutritional value of the food provided and questioned on the feedback the children provide.

Ramesh Kumar, Project Director, District Rural Development Agency, Assistant Director (Panchayats) Dwarkanath Singh, Rural Development Agency Executive Engineer Pasupathi, Regional Development Officers Srinivasan, Sudhakaran Panchayat Executive Officer Ravishankar and many other government officials were present.
