Coimbatore: In order to create awareness about girl children and their protection, which is questionable these days, students of the Shri Nehru Mahavidyalaya College of Arts and Science (SNMV) along with Child Line staged a flashmob and formed a human chain at the city Railway junction on Tuesday here.
Coimbatore: In order to create awareness about girl children and their protection, which is questionable these days, students of the Shri Nehru Mahavidyalaya College of Arts and Science (SNMV) along with Child Line staged a flashmob and formed a human chain at the city Railway junction on Tuesday here.

UG and PG Students of the Department of Social Work of SNMV also held placards holding slogans on girl child safety and other important social issue.

The event was inaugurated by P. Satheesh Saravanan, State Director of Coimbatore Railway Station, who also addressed the gathering. R Senthil Kumar, Station Manager of Coimbatore Railway Station and F. Lawrence, Deputy Commercial Manager of Coimbatore Railway Station, felicitated the gathering.

N. Aruchamy, Co-ordinator Railway Child Line Coimbatore, spoke on the threats to girl child safety and the need of strengthening it.

According to R. Mirthulaya, a first year PG student, around 27 students participated in the event. The students were given certificates for their participation by the Salem Division of Southern Railways.
M. Premalatha, Head of the Department of Social Work department and Assistant Professor P. Anuprasanthi, were present.
