Tirupur: Irked by the alleged inaction of Tirupur Corporation in repairing a damaged drinking water pipeline, social activists staged an agitation at Bungalow bus stop on Tirupur-Avinashi road.
"A large quantity of water goes wasted on the roads due to a leak in the main pipeline, causing inconvenience to the commuters and pedestrian in the area. While, we are heading towards summer such wastage would lead to grave water crisis", the social activists opined.
As all complaints fell in deaf ears, Chandrasekar one of the social activist, bathed in the water stagnation to show the volume of water wasted due to official apathy. His actions garnered the attention of the public.
