Moira means fate, density, according to Greek Mythology. The short film directed by Vijay Anand TR and his team threw light on road accidents due to drink and drive and using mobile while driving.
Dharma, Imra and Kaala, all three names refers to Yama - God of death according to Hindu mythology. While Dharma was played by Vijay Anand himself, the character is portrayed of taking people's lives when they commit violate traffic rules.
And, there comes Shiva, Zakheer and Mahesh, who are left with only few minutes to live, according to their fate set by Dharma. And the movie revolves around how the trio escapes death by being sensible in contrary to three other characters who lost their precious life by being naive.
After having lost their lives, the Dharma makes the victims virtually see the sufferings of their loved ones. Seeing the pain they have inflicted on their families by being careless while driving, the trio regret in pain. Bit it's too late..!
The movie tries to create awareness about road safety and warn people of the common mistakes they make which costs their lives in split seconds.
According to Director Vijay Anand, the movie was created to sensitise people on road safety, as every family has lost some loved one in road accidents.
"People easily ignore important safety tips like maintaining vehicles in good condition, avoid driving while they feel sleepy and usage of mobile phones while driving. These mistakes cost their lives leaving the families with much pain for lifetime. It only takes seconds to change one's destiny and thats the reason we named the short film as Moira, meaning destiny in Greek", informed Vijayanand.
The short film was sponsored by CII, Yi Coimbatore Chapter and Round table 20. Moira will be available online from February 7, 2020. The movie is expected to reach two million views.
