Tirupur: Isakkiraj, son of Venkatachalam and Thangam who are residents of Sheriff Colony in Tiruppur, is a class 9 student at KSC Government Boys Higher Secondary School. Today, he surprised everyone at the Tiruppur Collectorate when he walked with a bottle of herbal concoction claiming it as cure for the novel Coronavirus.
"I've been deeply saddened by the deaths caused due to Coronavirus in China. Deeply troubled by the outbreak of a novel virus, I decided to find a remedy. Thereafter, with the help of my grandmother, I prepared an extract using Neem, Basil, Nilevembu, Thoothuvalai, Papaya, Vettiver and Sanjeevi roots.", the 9th grader told.

"After I informed my School Principal, he permitted me leave, to meet the Collector today and present my concoction meant to cure the virus attack", added Isakkiraj.
The young boy further surprised everyone by urging the District Collector of Tirupur to send his herbal concoction to the Government Hospital for testing. He also apprised that a sample of the concoction will be sent to Coimbatore GH for testing.
At a time, when the scientific community are struggling to find a cure for the novel virus which has claimed over 300 lives in China's Yihan city, the claim by Isakkiraj, a 9th grader who proposes a simple herbal concoction as a remedy for the deadly virus has raised the eyebrows of many.
It will be interesting to see what the district administration of Tirupur plans to do with this claim.
