Coimbatore: The residents of Muthukavundanpur near Sulur in Coimbatore district petitioned to the District Collectorate on Monday alleging of a private industry in their area for causing air pollution.

Over 100 families living in the area have alleged that Texo Plast Plastic Cone functioning in their area has been polluting the air and water. "The effluents from the company has contaminated the ground water and air. People are suffering from various health hazards like respiratory ailments", they told in their petition.
They also accused that all their complaints to the pollution control board has gone in vain. Hence, they have resorted to the District Collector for redressal.
