Tirupur: At the Jallikattu contest held in Alagu Malai in Tirupur on Monday, Jagadish from Madurai won the first prize by taming 12 bulls. And, Ravanan, the star bull at Alanganallur Jallikattu bagged the third place.
Tirupur: At the Jallikattu contest held in Alagu Malai in Tirupur on Monday, Jagadish from Madurai won the first prize by taming 12 bulls. And, Ravanan, the star bull at Alanganallur Jallikattu bagged the third place.
The Jallikattu at Tirupur was flagged off by Minister Udumalai K Radhakrishnan, on Sunday in which 800 bull tamers from various parts of the State took part and displayed their valor.
According to the organisers, "Out of the 800 registered, 784 bulls participated. In the six rounds of competition, Jagadish of Madurai district was awarded a two-wheeler, as he bagged the first prize by taming over 12 bulls. And, the second prize was won by Karthi from Madurai district who tamed over 11 bulls.
Chinnathurai's bull from Pudukottai won the first prize and the SI Anuradha's bull which shined in the Alanganallur and Avaniyapuram Jallikattu bagged the third place."
Around 72 people sustained injuries during the event and all were treated by the medical teams camped at the evenue. And, those who sustained severe injuries were shifted to Tirupur Government Hospital for further treatment.
