Coimbatore: A two-day session on 'Notice the Insects' was organised by Isha Agro Movement in Gobichettipayam, on February 1-2, 2020.
The session was handled by Entomologist, Selvam handled the session.
Over 50 farmers from various districts from Erode, Tiruvannamalai, Perambalur, Salem, Kallakurichi, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, and Nilgiris attended the training.
The participants were taken to the fields and were taught on various insects and their benefits in real-time. A sketch of the insect was drawn by the participants to understand their body structure in detail.
It was by a detailed session on the significance of insects in natural farming, classification of beneficial and harmful insects, natural ways to increase the friendly insects in the farmland, and integrated pest management were discussed.
Natural pest management was also taught to the participants to promote lesser use of pesticides on the farmlands.
