The Nilgiris: The state-wide signature campaign by DMK and its allies against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) was kick started on Sunday.

In Ooty, a protest was held ahead of the campaign during which the protestors raised slogans against the central government at ATC grounds. They educated the public on the issues of CAA and NRC and collected signatures which will be consolidated and handed over to President Ram Nath Kovind.
The campaign was started by DMK Chief MK Stalin from his Assembly constituency Kolathur in Chennai.
The signature campaign will continue till February 8.
