Tirupur: Tirupur Exporters Association President Raja Shanmugam met reporters to discuss the Central Budget today as the Union Budget was tabled by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Speaking to reporters, he said that the budget is made to strengthen the whole of India and even if the yarn industries demand was not fulfilled, it is hopeful that ₹1480 crore has been allocated for the textile sector. He said, "We have been waiting for the announcement for hosiery board to be made but they were not made."
However, he said that new schemes have been announced to protect small businesses, the withdrawal of the outstanding EMBEDDED TAX, and several announcements to mitigate inflation have brought hope to the budget.
