Coimbatore: Director and General Secretary to Tamil Perarasu Party Gowthaman submitted a petition to Deputy CM of Tamilnadu O. Paneerselvam requesting that Thanjavur Peruvudayar Temple Kumbhabishekam should be conducted only in Tamil

Coimbatore: Director and General Secretary to Tamil Perarasu Party Gowthaman submitted a petition to Deputy CM of Tamilnadu O. Paneerselvam requesting that Thanjavur Peruvudayar Temple Kumbhabishekam should be conducted only in Tamil.

In a press meet later Director and General Secretary to Tamil Perarasu Party Gowthaman said, "While the entire Tamil population wants the Kumbhabishekam to be held in Tamil, Madurai High Court's decision that Kumbhabishekam can be conducted in Sanskrit also is disappointing. The release by Hindu Charitable Trust has also said that Kumbhabishekam can be done both in Tamil and Sanskrit. We don't want to include Sanskrit unnecessarily. Hence I have submitted a petition to Deputy CM O. Paneerselvam who has promised to look into to matter".

He also warned that the entire Tamil population will condemn if Sanskrit is used in the Kumbhabishekam to be conducted on 5th February.
