Coimbatore: After a long vacation of 48 days, the 28 elephants stationed at the Rejuvenation camp in Thekkampatti left to their respective temples on Friday here.
Coimbatore: After a long vacation of 48 days, the 28 elephants stationed at the Rejuvenation camp in Thekkampatti left to their respective temples on Friday here.
The elephants were given an official send off with a flag off by Ministers S.P. Velumani and Sevvur Ramachandran.
The camp was set up on the bank of River Bhavani at a cost of Rs.1.40 crore and 28 elephants from temples and mutts in Tamil Nadu and Puduchery participated.
The elephants were given special physical, medical and emotional care at the camp and were allowed to socialise with other elephants.
The were boarded in their respective trucks and transported back home, to continue the temple duties, from which they had a leave of 48 days.
