Coimbatore: Protests against Centre's Citizenship Amendment Act which has triggered a nation-wide outrage is still continuing, across the nation by leftist political parties, students and Islamic movements. Labelling it as highly discriminative and divisive, people are still on the streets protesting against the CAA and National Register of Citizens (NRC).

Consolidating all the Islamic people in the district, the all Jamaats here have announced a massive rally to show solidarity and their condemnation against the centre for forcing CAA and NRC.

In a press meet held today, Raja Hussain, Coordinator of the rally informed that a nation-wide solidarity rally will be held on February 2, 2020, against CAA, NPR and NRC laws by the central government.

"On behalf of all Jamaat, Islamic movements and political parties, around 30,000 people will take part in the rally to be held in Coimbatore on February 2. Continued protests have yielded results, as few States have said 'NO' to implementation of CAA and NRC in their respective States", he told.

He accused that BJP is lying by assuring to the Islam people that none will be affected due to implementation of CAA and NRC. "CAA and NRC targets the minorities in the nation. The gun shooting in Delhi on Thursday is shocking and condemnable. It is tragic for such an incident to happen on the memorial day of Mahatma Gandhi", he remarked.

He opined that BJP is on the path of creating more such Godse's in our nation. "Student protesting in Delhi must be given protection. I request the TN government to pass a decision to not implement CAA", he urged.
