Coimbatore: The Nilgiris Kennel Association (NKA) is all set to host a one-day dog show of all breeds in Coonoor on February 2. Over 250 breeds of dogs including native breeds like Chippiparai, Kombai and Rajapalayam will take part in the show.

The show will be held at St. Antony's School grounds in Coonoor. 75 breeds including Doberman, Rottweiler, Siberian Husky, German Shepherd and Great Dane will take part in the event.
Speaking about the exhibition, the Nilgiris Kennel Club coordinator Vivek said, "More than 200 dogs from TN, Kerala and Karnataka will take part in the exhibition. The dogs will be assessed based on their fitness, weight, teeth, intelligence and obedience."
"German Shepherds are ranked as the second most popular dog breed. Due to their high intelligence and versatility, they are used by the police department and military. As climate of Ooty is conducive for German Shepherds, many dog lovers breed them, here. All these breeds will be present at the dog show which is to be held this Sunday", Vivek added.
