Streamlining and segregating, Municipal Soild Waste (MSW) is regarded to be a herculean task for the Corporations, as improper management could lead to health hazardous and outbreak of various infections.
In a bid to ensure the proper waste segregation and processing methods are implemented by the Corporations, the principal bench of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) constituted regional and state level monitoring committees.
Former judge of Madras high court P Jyothimani who heads the southern zone regional monitoring committee and Judicial member of NGT, today inspected the micro composting centre at Vellalore dump yard where solid wastes are converted to organic composts.
He inspected the process and interacted with the officials on ways to improve it.
